UKHIFU,
Ltd, (“UK HIFU”) a subsidiary of USHIFU, LLC, (“US HIFU”) is the London-based European
distributor of the Sonablate® 500 medical device. UK HIFU
is committed to treating prostate cancer using high intensity
focused ultrasound (HIFU) with the Sonablate 500, a minimally
invasive outpatient procedure pioneered to control cancer
and significantly improve patients’ quality of life.
The device allows physicians to precisely define treatment zones in order to
destroy the entire gland or select tissue to be treated focally. Sonablate
HIFU can treat large prostate up to 40 grams, without the need for a transurethral
resection of the prostate (TURP), and incorporates three-dimensional imaging,
monitoring of tissue changes and detection of neurovascular bundles during
HIFU therapy.
UK HIFU’s vision
is to become the recognized global leader in research, development
and utilization of HIFU and revolutionize the delivery of minimally
invasive patient care while lowering healthcare costs. Currently
the Sonablate HIFU procedure is available in almost 20 hospitals
throughout the UK, and in more than 30 countries worldwide.
